St. Lucy, I will be going in for corneal surgery
on Tuesday to hopefully correct a recurring corneal erosion
I have in my left eye. I suffered from the same ailment four
years ago in my right eye and required surgery to fix it then.
St. Lucy, please protect my vision and help my doctors solve
this problem with my eyes. The pain, suffering, and stress associated
with an RCE are affecting my wife and two young children. Please

I found this little novena and said it twice.
I wanted to say it with my daughter, and we did say it together
for a few days, then she gave up. (She has a problem with
one eye and can't finish her driver's test because of it)
However, I continued. Well, nothing happened. But a month
later, my husband quit smoking. He never tries to quit,
although he knows he ought to, then out of the blue he quit.
I don't want to rejoice prematurely because last time he
quit he started again 2 weeks later. It's starting his 3rd
week now. So I'm not sure if St Lucy had anything to do
with it or not. Is she known for helping people quit smoking?
Anyway, for whatever reason, I want to say thank you to
her.
Dear St. Lucy. I continue to pray and you
continue to hear my plea for the return of vision to my
son John. I have never been so thankful of anything in my
life. You are helping my young son to regain his vision
back, so that he may see and appreciate the beautiful world

diabetes and has had many eye surgeries in the past with
many successes. But, now he has to have surgery today to
lessen the fogginess in his good eye. Please watch over
him and his surgeon today and assist in a successful surgery

Thank you St. Lucy for answering my prayers
and for a successful LASIK procedure. I've been wearing
glasses for a number of years (20+) and after considerable
thought and discernment, I decided to go ahead with LASIK.
I had heard a number of stories from individuals how they
were seeing 20/15 the day after surgery. Unfortunately,
I wasn't so lucky. After having surgery on 1/11/07, I went
in to see the doctor the following day. I had a hard time
seeing as there was so much glare. It turned out that I
had irregularities on the surface of my cornea (both eyes).
The doctor thought the irregularities would go away with
time, but that it was not a certainty. After about 6 weeks
of continued prayer, the irregularities went away. After
another 6 weeks, I went in for my 3 month checkup and my
left eye checked-out at 20/20. My right eye, which was my
dominant eye, was around 20/40 so I elected to prepare for
an enhancement. My enhancement on 5/17/07 went really well
and I was seeing 20/15 the following day. After another
three months, I'm really happy with the procedure and thank
St. Lucy for her assistance and of course the dear Lord
for taking good care of me and my family.
My friend's husband is a postman and is
nearly blind in one eye and the other eye has deteriorated.
The doctors do not believe modern medicine can help him.
Please heal his sight or at the very least keep his good
eye from deteriorating further so that he may continue to
support his family as a mailman. Thank you. -KMP

a second detached retina and am going through the healing
process now and it will be months before we know what kind
of vision I will end up with. Please St. Lucy, I am unworthy

I'm not sure if I'm doing this correctly.
I had a vitrectomy in my left eye last week & my sight
hasn't yet been restored. I'm praying to St. Lucy to help
me & others like me to help us regain our sight.
I just recently had cataract surgery and
developed an infection from contamination of surgical instruments.
I have a lot of inflammation in my eye and my pupil is dilated.
I fear that the pupil might be damaged. I was told by a
loving relative to pray to St. Lucy who is the patron saint
of eye problems. Please St. Lucy - hear my prayers.

hit by an SUV driven by a drunk driver. She suffered a head
injury which leaves her with double vision. She is a registered
nurse in the emergency room and has been unable to work
for 11 months now due to all of her complications. I pray,

Multiple Sclerosis and diabetes. I?m 49, live in a nursing
home and I am in a wheelchair and able to get around like
this. My eyes are giving me some trouble of late and I fear

life, however limited I now have. I pray that I am not being
too selfish in my plea. I?m never sure if I even know if

St. Lucy I have two vision problems that
come in the way of my pleasing Jesus. Literally, I hve vision
problems because of the melanoma on my left eye and a hole
in the retina in my right eye. On top of that, I have high
pressure on my right eye, and I am afraid of glaucoma. The
second problem is my increasing difference with my husband
which leads to arguments. Please, help me surrender with
full will to God's will for me. Pray that I will regain
full vision so that my husband doesn't have to keep on repeating

Dear St. Lucy, I had cataract surgery two
months ago on my left eye and 3 weeks ago on my right eye.
All was fine until last week when I noticed that the left
eye was bulging and getting bigger than the right eye! I
went back to the Eye Dr. but the surgery went fine this
is something else. I'm in pain and now tomorrow I have to
go for an MRI and then to the orbital surgeon! St. Lucy
please heal my eye and return it to normal. I am so scared
and nervous - I ask for your assistance.

My husband and I have been praying to St.

cataract eye surgery tomarrow. We both have been praying

Dear St. Lucy, I lost the vision in my right
eye, 7 weeks ago. A vein burst in that eye and it filled
with blood. If the eye doesn't clear within 3 months the
doctor says I will need surgery. He says he does not want
to wait much longer than that as there could be continued
bleeding, or the retina could become detached.The surgery
is invasive, risky, and very expensive. I have no insurance.
The doctor said there is a chance that it could clear on
it's own and I won't need the surgery. But he doubts that
will happen. That is why I am praying to you. Please clear
the blood from my eye, so that I will not need this surgery.

My family is saying the Novena to St. Lucy,
and we are asking others to as well. My husband and our
2 sons have congenital glaucoma. My husband had his 20th
surgery in June of 2005 and has lost a lot of the vision
in his only eye that he had. He is on disability but stable.
Our 12 year old son has only one eye also and is depressed
and worried most days. Just today our 14 year old son said
that all of a sudden he had lost his periferal vision! We
are praying, and will call the eye doctor tomorrow. Please
pray for them. And Dear St. Lucy, thank you in advance because
you continue to watch out for them and their future.

Lucy for help in vision for their loved ones. I will pray
for you all also. My daughter is going in for cataract surgery.
She had her right eye removed when she was a newborn and
was nearsighted in her left eye but did quite well for 32
years. Last year she had a detached retina and they tried
to reattach it 4 times and ended up leaving the oil in.
Now she has developed a cataract which is making her blind.
It is a very delicate surgery, as one of the other mothers
here has the same issue with her son. Her vision decreased
after the detached retina. Please St. Lucy, pray that all
the people listed here have their prayers answered and their
vision helped. Also pray that my daughter will be able to
see well again and not go blind.

I am praying the novena for my son, Terry.
He lost the vision in his left eye 10 years ago due to a
pituitary gland tumor. For the past 10 years, he has been
fine. Now, at his regular checkup, they found another tumor
which is jeopardizing the sight in his left eye. This would
leave him totally blind. I pray St. Lucy will my hear my
prayer and allow a safe removal of the tumor and allow him
to keep the sight in his right eye.

Dear St. Lucy – Please hear my prayer
for my 18 year old daughter Ashley who has very bad eyes
since birth. Two weeks ago her retina detached and she nearly
lost her eye sight and had emergency surgery. There is concern
for the other eye as well. Her extreme nearsightedness and
astigmatism (which increased each year) has caused her tissue
to stretch and then, thus pushing her retina away.Every
year she cried, because her glasses were so thick (even
with reducing and polishing them) that she could barely
see out of them because of the distortion. Several years
ago, she was able to be fitted in to a very costly contact,
which helped tremendously for her self-esteem. But now,
she can’t wear them for a while. I asked if I could
surgically give her my eyes and I would take hers, but it
is not possible medically. I’m afraid at the rate
she is going, she will go blind. I’m praying for a
miracle that her eyesight will be restored better than it
has ever been through your blessing and God’s blessing.

Please pray for the success of my son Jake's
high-risk cataract surgery. We pray to St. Lucy for this
great favor. This is critical. He almost lost his vision
on his left eye last year due to retinal detachment. The
surgery and the bubbles caused cataract. Next week, his
opthalmologist will put artificial lens, but the fragments
will fall into his eye's aqeous humor. A third surgery may
be needed to remove them. Please pray for his retina on
both eyes to become thick and strong. His right eye is equally
nearsighted and may have the same fate as his left eye,
especially as he grows older. Thank you very much and God

The intercession of St. Lucy is requested
for healing the eyesight of Lt. Jason Scott, who was severely
wounded by a roadside bomb in October while riding in a
U.S. Army tank in Iraq. Doctors have said that Jason will
probably lose 90% of the vision in his right eye, and perhaps
50% of the vision in his left eye. Let's prove them wrong
with our unceasing prayers to Mary, the Mother of Jesus
(who cured numerous blind persons), as well as by praying
the Novena to St. Lucy, the Patroness of Good Vision. Thank

Dear St. Lucy, today I begin my Novena to
you for my husband, who is experiencing double vision. I
pray that his normal vision be restored and am confident
that you will hear my prayer and intercede to our Lord for
him. In Jesus' name I pray and thank you for listening.

vision.
My wife Clara had a cataract operation on
her right eye last week in Mexico City. Three U.S. surgeons
said it would be very risky given that she has some macular
degeneration, "floaters" (dried blood from trauma
manifest as spot images) and extreme myopia which pulls
on the retinal wall, making it thin and prone to tear, which
would lead to blindness. As the clouded lenses were forcing
her to read just 2-3" from the page a
Mexican surgeon said she might as well try the surgery because
she was gradually going blind anyway....
I was very happy to hear that as a result of the operation
she now sees 20/30, as if she had had a Lasik treatment
for nearsightedness! They will likely do the other eye in
a few months. The family joined together to help pay expenses
and we were praying for intercession to Saints Jude, Rita,
Lucy, and Joseph. This experience of the transcendent and
supernatural has situated us in devotion....

having trouble with her eyes because of diabetes. thank

i have been saying the novena to St. Lucy
for nine days for my daughter who is suffering from a viral
infection in her eye and subsequent paralasis of the pupil.
her reading has improved and i shall continue to pray that
her iris starts to work again and her pupil start to open
and close properly. I feel calmer for the novena and know

Update: All my family want to thank everyone
who has been praying for my 2 year old nephews eyes to be
healed. We have been saying the St. Lucy Novena. As of today
he is seeing better. His name is Zachary. He was so abused
that they did not expect him to live. I had sent a petition
in earlier, and St. Lucy has heard them. Everyday Zachary
can see better. He has had to learn alot of things all over
again, because of the damage to his brain, but I know that
St. Lucy has heard our prayers and has put them at the feet
of our Lord. Please continue to pray for him as he continues
to get stronger. God Bless you,
I am praying the novena to St. Lucy for
my 2 year old nephew. He was severely abused and is a miracle
that he is alive without brain damage., but it has left
him blind. I pray St. Lucy will hear my prayer and restore
his site, if it be Gods will. Such a special child he is.

I am praying the St. Lucy Novena for Maisie.
She is blind in her left eye and the retina in her right
eye has detached from the lower part of her eye. She is
on medication now to see if the retina can reattach itself.
Please pray that the retina will reattach and that she will
see well again. She may also need surgery and if she does,
I ask guidance for the surgeons and that everything will
go well. Thank you.

novena for my father. His vision is declining rapidly. The
eye disease is very rare, but we are thankful to have a
great physician who treats him. I believe in prayers. I

My prayers that need a blessing are for my dad's eye sight.
He has a rare disease and treatment of medicines can only
do so much. I pray for his sight to strengthen and to have
less stress in his life if this is the cause to the declining

Thanks to St. Lucy: My mother Merlyn Hindman's
eyes were shut and she did not open her eyes, now Merlyn
Hindman's eye are open and she is able to follow the nurse
with her eyes and other people. My daughters, Chance and
